Marttinen Youth Centre is one of the 14 European youth centres that has been awarded the Quality Label. From our centre, the meeting was attended by Youth Services Manager Sanna Järvensivu and International Youth Work and Family Work Coordinator Päivi Ketonen.
At the meeting, each representative of the centre highlighted more significant events and issues in their own centre, as well as news on a more general level in the country's youth work. We talked about Marttinen's role in the coordination of regional youth work in the Tampere Region, as the significance of regional youth work is emphasised in the national youth work and youth policy programme drawn up by the Government (VANUPO 2024–2027).
In addition, we participated in a workshop that aimed to inspire the representatives of the centres to create a common narrative – the centres awarded the Quality Label are different in terms of their environment and functions, but they are all united by the same high-quality approach to youth work, participation of young people, active international work and a desire to develop. The aim of the workshop was to consider how the above-mentioned values could be promoted, for example, through the marketing of one's own centre.
Marttinen actively participates in the annual meetings and trainings of the Quality Label. Villa Elba Youth Centre is the second centre in Finland to receive the label.
Marttinen is one of the eight centres supported by the Finnish Ministry of Education and Culture.
