The task of the Marttinen youth centre is to help the young people of our area find their own path to an international perspective. The world is full of ways to go international, and we can help in this. Whether you are young, work with young people, or an organisation, together we will find the right way to learn about other cultures that suits your situation, budget and passions. At the same time, you can develop your skills and gain international experiences which will benefit you for years to come! It all starts with contacting us, and soon after that you could be finding yourself on the map!
Youth Centre Marttinen has experience in youth work 25 years and international youth work is a big part of it - recognised by the Council of Europe’s quality label for
youth centres. This experience gives us an expert status working on activities and working with young people i.e through adventure education, social youth work and
formal/non-formal education cooperation. As one of our key focuses we’ve also been taking an active role in activating and informing other regional youth organisations
about international possibilities. Marttinen coordinates networks and partnerships that allow smaller youth work actors and more young people and youth workers to gain experiences from internationality, bringing also advantages to further cooperation on local level and benefit from it on daily basis. We provide guidance and support for the local youth organisations when they are making their
international projects.

Youth exchanges, volunteering, language courses, events, funding for international activities...you can get information and advice about all of these from us. We’d be delighted to meet individual young people in person, tell them about all the different options and help them make their own international path!
Marttinen is one of the eight centres supported by the Finnish Ministry of Education and Culture.
